Eco Fashion Annual Summer Sale at GreenLoop
tagged accessories, discount, eco-fashion, fair-trade, fashion, green-gift-idea, Indie, recycled, sexy, shoes, summer, sustainable, sweatshop-free and vegan
SALE ENDS SUNDAY JULY 20th!

GreenLoop doesn’t fool around during their Summer Sale. It isn’t one of those sad “summer sales” where all the winter wear goes 10% off. They have discounted pretty much everything on their site at 20-70% off. If you’ve ever visited their store – or any green retailer for that matter – you’ve probably coveted lots of the sustainable, organic, recycled, Fair Trade eco fashion and accessories, but loathed the price tags. Honestly, they can be pretty ridiculous sometimes. But when they’re discounted up to 70% off, it’s a really smart time to pick up a few organic wardrobe cornerstones. Here are a few of my favorite picks;
- Stewart+Brown Organic Cotton Collar Scoop Shell
- Simple Green Organic/Recycled ‘Toe Stir’ Vegan Skimmers
- Anna Cohen Silky Soy Halter Dress
New items will be added all week long so check back every few days for fresh eco friendly fashion and accessories. And if you sign up for their newsletter, you will get a coupon for an additional 10% off. Shipping is always just $5 flat rate and it’s carbon neutral!

I love extended sales. They always seem to show up during 3 day weekends… like this Urban Outfitters Memorial Day Sale! Through June 4th, UO has just about every other product on their site marked down to awesomely low prices- clothes, shoes, accessories, swimwear, decor items, gifts- you name it, it’s on sale (and a lot of it for at least 40% off). Plus, you know the deal with Urban Outfitters’ website versus their retail stores: lots of exclusive items. It’s like they’re encouraging us to stay home and shop in our skivvies. Well, UO, if you insist…
Cute Toddler Rain Boots
tagged accessories, kid-friendly, shoes, Uncommon-Goods, under-$25, under-$50 and Zappos.com
Let me start off by saying that I am a firm believer that all practical things should come in pretty packages. Why companies are still making those silly bright yellow galoshes when cute ones like these are available is a mystery to me. You dont have to sacrifice pretty footwear for dry feet anymore; I had no trouble finding many different cute designs. (Just look at these adorable pink cowgirl rain boots!) The only hard part was deciding which ones were my favorite.
These little girl’s mary-jane rain boots are to die for. It’s a shame these cuties only come in sizes 6-11 toddler sizes, or I’d be sporting them every soggy day this spring. How sweet are these pink kitty rainboots? Slipping these cherry print boots on could easily be the best part about your little girls rainy day. The thought of splashing around with these in rain puddles actually makes me feel a bit giddy inside! Any of these rain boots will be perfect for those impending soggy days where it’s too wet for regular shoes, but not slushy enough for snow boots.

Fashion Tights in 45 Colors
tagged accessories, fashion, intimates, kid-friendly, mod, novelty, sexy, shoes and under-$25
Legwear, especially textured tights, is really hot this season. It’s a trend that resurfaced in Fall of 2005 and is only getting more popular. Unlike most fads, it’s functional and affordable as well as a being a stylish fashion accessory. However, if you only shop at retail stores you’re going to miss out on the true versitility that 45 colors of legwear provides. Forget the standard black and nude; this winter you can adorn your legs with any of the 58 colors and prints available from We Love Colors. For someone like me who has searched in vain for that perfect pair of pink tights to match a vintage mod dress, or yearned for opaque thigh-highs in several hues, WLC is a dream come true.
If you’re a hosiery aficionado you’re probably already familiar with We Love Colors, since they manufacture their own products and many of them are exclusively sold on their website. Along with standard tights, you can also find fishnets, thigh highs, knee highs, and the insanely popular footless tights/capris. Their selection is pretty huge, and also includes styles for men and children, as well as accessories. As a little testiment to their deserved popularity and customer satisfaction, WLC has an entire blog dedicated to their legwear being featured in fashion shoots and on the catwalk, and a blog featuring photos from their customers. In fact, if you send in a photo of yourself in any of their products you may be featured, but they’ll also send you a free gift (contact them for details).
Heidi Klum Sandals from Birkenstock
tagged shoes and Zappos.com
We generally aren’t much for promoting celebrity-branded anything, but we had to let you know about these cute sandals. Heidi Klum got together with Germany based Birkenstock to create some limited edition sandals. They worked together to create quite a few styles but we’re only focusing in the cruelty-free vinyl sandals. They’re called Birkenstock Star and come in green, blue, and our personal favorite pink. Although these are “designed” by Heidi Klum, they keep true to the Birkenstock standards of comfort, support, and function. The footbed liner curves to ensure even weight distribution and proper arch support. You’ll see how contoured the footbed is by checking out the detailed product pictures over at Zappos and selecting the back view. Also notice that the raised toe bar is designed to encourage the natural gripping motion of your feet, exercise your legs and improve circulation.
These Birkenstock Star sandals are currently on a 10% off sale over at Zappos. If you’ve never ordered shoes online, take comfort in Zappos 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you aren’t happy with your purchase for any reason they will even pay for return shipping back to them in addition to refunding the entire purchase price.
Doing a little research on this Klum-Birkenstock project I read an article over at Kitmeout, which ponders what celebrity designed shoes could mean for Birkenstock’s branding and intended audience. Like Kitmeout, I also look forward to a brand that is “free from celebrity and stardom… reminiscent of the ‘hippie’ era” like Birkenstock used to be.
